Located on the bank of Perfume River; Hue, the city of Thua Thien Hue province in Central Vietnam, is 700 km from Hanoi, 1100km from Ho Chi Minh City, and only a few miles from the sea. Hue was the national capital, the political, cultural and religious center of Vietnam under the control of Nguyen Dynasty ( from1802 to 1945) During these years, architectural works of a high cultural and historic value were built: the Citadel, especially the Imperial City (including 253 constructions), 7 Royal tomb compound of 9 kings of the Nguyen Dynasty, the Esplanade of Nam Giao, the Ho Quyen arena and the Hon Chen Temple.
